Under the contract, Mouchel will provide business support to applicants seeking funding from the LWaRB for innovative waste and resource efficiency projects in the capital.

Mouchel will support the Board, chaired by the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, to deliver value for money. As part of its programme of business support, Mouchel will ensure that all projects put forward for funding have sound business plans. The Board will be able call upon the company’s extensive expertise in waste management and project guidance to help them to deliver innovative waste management solutions for London.

David Goatman, Principal Consultant at Mouchel, said: “The Mayor of London and the capital’s borough councils are taking an innovative approach to funding waste and resource efficiency programmes in London with the aim of reducing waste to landfill and associated carbon emissions. Mouchel is delighted to be appointed as the business support partner for this important initiative and to play a key role in catalysing a new generation of sustainable waste infrastructure in London. We will employ our knowledge of the commercial and technical drivers for waste projects to ensure that applicants present the strongest possible business cases for funding.”

Andy Holdcroft, Chief Operating Officer at the LWaRB, said: “We are pleased to have appointed Mouchel to this key role. They have demonstrated the necessary expertise in project support and in-depth knowledge of waste management infrastructure. This will enable our small team of officers to be supported in taking forward the wide range of projects that seek the Board’s help. We want project proposals to be supported in a consistent, efficient and streamlined manner to ensure only sound business cases are put forward for evaluation and hopefully receive approval for funding.”
