The firm, through subsidiary the Atlantic Richfield Company, has hired remediation experts Delta Consultants to carry out the work.

The deal will see Delta take charge of remediation and site closure for the firm’s extensive portfolio of environmental liabilities.

“For more than two decades, Delta has structured risk transfer and other liability management services for clients in the oil and gas industry, manufacturing, commercial services and the financial sectors,” said Bob Karls, Delta chief executive.

He added: “Our proven reputation for providing solutions for divested assets, along with developing solutions integrated with continuing operations, effectively positioned us for this contract win.”
