ABB energy appraisal manager, Nick Brown, will be explaining how companies can meet the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme with variable speed drives.

The CRC will come into force only a few weeks before Sustainabilitylive! and it likely to be a big topic at the event.

He said: “According to European Union estimates, pumps use more energy than any other type of industrial equipment, consuming some 160 TWh of electric power and accounting for 79M metric tons of CO2 emissions a year.”

ABB’s UK flow product manager, Tony Hoyle, will be talking about how you can keep up with MCERTS – the Environment Agency’s Monitoring Certification Scheme.

He said: “I’m discussing MCERTS and outlining the measures needed to ensure continued compliance between inspections.

“All the key factors that need to be considered along with the technology and verification service routines that can help operators make sure they are fully prepared for their next inspection are covered.”

Mr Brown will be speaking at 2pm to 2.20pm on Wednesday (April 21) and Mr Hoyle at 1.35pm to 1.55pm on Thursday (April 22), both in the IWEX theatre of Sustainabilitylive!

Other members of the ABB team will be available on the firm’s stand F20 through Sustainabilitylive!
