Severn Trent Services has promoted Rick Bacon to director of operations for its Water Purification division. Bacon will have responsibility for the management of Severn Trent Services Ltd (U.K.) and Severn Trent Water Purification S.p.A. (Italy).

His new role includes responsibility for the delivery of projects throughout Europe and the development of the business in line with the company’s growth plan.

This includes the promotion of proven TETRA® wastewater filtration systems as a preferred solution across Europe.

Bacon is currently the general manager of Severn Trent Services-Apliclor in Spain, a role that he will maintain.

Born in England and qualified in economics from Cambridge University, Bacon is an expert in the development of new businesses as well as the integration, acquisition and restructuring of organisations.

As such, he has worked with established organisations in Europe, Asia and the U.S.A. such as BP, Williams Holdings, Beatrice Foods, Parity Group and iProfile.

In the course of his professional experience, Bacon has worked in diverse sectors such as energy, chemicals, consumer goods, technology, information technology and financial services.

Bacon was employed as general manager for Severn Trent Services in May 2009 to manage the integration of this multi-national organisation with P.S Apliclor, S.A. of Spain.
