The US Environmental Protection Agency’s Chicago office says that the TIMCO Engine Centre in Oscoda, Michigan, must pay $104,000 for a series of breaches.

According to the EPA, the company failed to update its contingency plan, did not properly train staff to deal with the waste, failed to date, label and properly close containers of waste and did not leave adequate space between aisles of containers.

TIMCO generates a variety of hazardous waste at its repair plant that requires proper storage and disposal.

Under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, EPA controls hazardous waste from its production to final disposal.
