The Greener Holidays Brochure includes details of 86 different hotels around the globe; all of which have received awards and accolades in recognition of their environmental values.

Thomson – a subsidiary of Europe’s largest travel group, TUI – claim the brochure is a demonstration to holidaymakers that a more sustainable holiday need not be a “compromise on quality”.

Thomson’s head of sustainable development, Jane Ashton, said: “Our research has shown that customers do care about the environment and want their holiday company to make it easier for them to select a greener holiday.

“With over 86 hotels worldwide to choose from, there is a collection of holidays [in the brochure] to suit all tastes.”

Publication of the Greener Holidays Brochure is the latest act under TUI’s ‘Holidays Forever’ programme, which signs Thomson and sister company First Choice up to 20 pledges designed to reduce the group’s environmental impact.

“Thomson’s Greener Holidays Brochure is another step forward in achieving the commitments set out in our Holidays Forever campaign,” added Ms Ashton.

“Holidays Forever represents the next stage of Thomson and First Choice’s sustainable development strategy and aims to get our customers on board supporting sustainable tourism to help preserve their holidays long into the future.”
