The work falls under the company’s current AMP5 framework contract with Thames Water, with the largest of the schemes worth £28 million.

The project is aimed at improving the quality of river water and sludge protection.

This scheme involves the development of sludge treatment and storage facilities at three waste water treatment works at Camberley and Chertsey in Surrey and Crawley in West Sussex.

The other major scheme, worth £27 million, is to modify processes at Deephams wastewater treatment works in Edmonton in London.

Work will be carried out to facilitate the removal of phosphates and improve sludge treatment at the site.

Galliford Try chief executive, Greg Fitzgerald, said: “We are delighted to secure this additional business from an existing framework client.

“It builds on our track record in delivering both clean and wastewater infrastructure projects.”
