SME waste managers set to enter recycling debate

SME business leaders will be revealing the challenges they face in recycling and what they look for in a waste service provider at a forthcoming conference.

Organised by edieWaste in partnership with LAWR magazine, Commercial Waste 2012: Reaching out to SMEs will take place at Hallam Conference Centre, London, on 29 May.

With 35% of trade waste arising from companies with less than 50 employees, the event will explore what opportunities are out there for the waste industry to capture more materials from this overlooked sector.

As well as SME perspectives, delegates will hear the latest thinking around new service models and how collection infrastructure can be tailored to take advantage of smaller trade waste volumes.

Speakers include representatives from Defra, WRAP, the Environmental Services Association, Local Government Association and Biffa Waste Services.

A special ‘business perspective’ session will also feature talks from SME waste managers who will offer valuable insight into the challenges they face in accessing cost-effective services.

Early bird booking is now open for the event – delegates who book before April 16 will save £60. To register your interest or find out more, go here
