Top of the range recycling kit turns on the power

The SED 2005 Site Clearance Zone features the latest crushers, hammers, pulverisers and screens and also chippers, shredders and other green waste kit. The working demonstration areas provides the opportunity to see a range of massive and robust in action.

Visitors with an interest in recycling should make the zone their first of call at the vast
array of construction and related plant and equipment.

Finlay Hydrascreens(Omagh) Ltd, a regular exhibitor in the site Clearance Zone, specialises in manufacturing equipment for the quarrying, recycling and mineral processing industries.

SED 2005 sees see the UK launch of the Finlay J-1175 tracked single toggle jaw crusher. Main features include a 42 x 30 feet Jaques crusher chamber, by-pass conveyor, Cat C9 engine, hydrostatic drive and reversible operation for clearing blockages.

The Finlay 694 Supertrak, a fully integrated four-way split-screening unit, fitted with a 20 x 5 feet screenbox and four on-board stockpiling conveyors, is also being demonstrated.

Also on show is the Finlay 883 Reclaimer, designed specifically for the recycling industry, and is equipped with a hardox steel pan apron feeder, 16 x 5 feet screenbox, and three conveyors.

McClosky International, headquartered in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, has announced the purchase of Viper International, the manufacturer of mobile vibrating screens servicing the aggregate and recycling industries, based in Coalisland, Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Viper’s operations are being integrated into McCloskey International with the new company continuing operations in Northern Ireland, as McCloskey International.

This newly formed UK division of McCloskey International will be responsible for the continued product development and manufacturing of vibrating screens and the distribution of the expanded line of McCloskey products in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

All products will be branded as McCloskey and in time the Viper name will be eliminated.

McCloskey International Ltd is exhibiting four machines, including the Kompaq, which is small but robust and has a surprisingly large screening capacity – producing material from 60t/hr to 300t/hr, depending on the material screened.
Also on show is the Tracksizer 123, which, McCloskey says, is one of its flagship products. The addition of an adjustable angle screen box, and horizontal collection conveyor, has enhanced this versatile scalping machine. The Tracksizer 123 can be used for waste recycling, quarrying trenching and in the sand and gravel industries.

On working demo and on display is the McCloskey Mini Sizer, the smallest of the company’s range. It is a flexible machine with a large screening range and popular with landscape gardeners and small to medium sized house builders.

McCloskey’s fourth exhibit is the 512 RE Trommel which is able to screen a wide range of materials. The 512 RE is remote controlled and dual folding. The pivoting discharge conveyor is stated to be a unique feature of the machine that allows the integrated stockpiling conveyor to swivel through a radius of 180o with the push of a button. This allows the machine to make stockpiles of different products without moving the installation.

B E Recycling will be showing machines from the Bandit range of wood chippers and stump grinders. The Bandit range of chippers encompasses models from 6 to 24 inch capacity, from 20hp to 1000hp as Trailed, Tracked and PTO variants. The Bandit chippers offer a means to produce consistent chips which can be sold into a range of markets from soil conditioning through to bio-fuel supply.
The new Bandit stump grinder range offers high output compact units with user-friendly controls.

Also new this year is the Bandit 3680 Beast Recycler, which is able to process high volumes of material and give finished products in one part. Due to the shredding design, the machine shreds material at 650rpm and is capable of processing up to 200 tons per hour.

Metso Minerals is exhibiting its Nordberg LT range of track-mounted mobile crushers. Each unit in the LT range is designed for rapid deployment, demolition and construction waste recycling applications. The range is backed by a comprehensive line up of mobile screens on tracks and wheels. Metso Minerals says it is the first manufacturer to incorporate SmartScreen technology into three of its track-mounted mobile screens: Nordberg ST171; ST348 and ST352.
In the main showground Metso Minerals Rammer division is exhibiting its range of award-winning inSeries of “maintenance free”, small hammers that carry a lifetime guarantee against tool breakage.

Also in the main showground is Extec Screens and Crushers Ltd which is using SED to formally launch two new products. There are rumours that these machines will include a tracked roll crusher and heavy-duty screener.

Extec is also displaying other equipment, including the S-5, S-4 and S-3 series of screening plan, the C10 and C12 tracked
jaw crushers and primary and secondary Impact crushers.

Baughans Barrel Screens is showing its Concrete Bucket Crusher, its Barrel Screen, complete with picking belt and blower and the new Mini Screen. On static display is the hydraulically folding Mini Screen, Tree Stump Splitter and Grapples made for any size of excavator.

CGCS (Midlands) Ltd is the UK distributor for TIM Envipro, a range of shredders, screens and composting turning equipment, and is the UK and European distributor for Screen Machine US, which produces a large range of screen equipment for waste recycling, aggregates and soils.

In the demonstration area CGCS is demonstrating the brand new TIM SD1600 600 HP Green/Wood waste shredder. Also on the demonstration area is the 55C Screen Machine – stated to be the first fully mobile Compact Screener.

Anross Ltd launched the “Auto-Segregator” concept at SED 2004, which won an SED Award for Excellence in the Recycling category. Anross has now extended the principle to the largest bucket in the range,
the Model 20, which can be seen at this
year’s show.

Large screening projects are now viable with a Segregator bucket, as opposed to the traditional screening processes. The Model
20 Auto-Segregator bucket is in action on a New Holland-Kobelco 21 tonne excavator, with the Model 05, 10 and 15 buckets also being demonstrated at various times during the event.
