Who has the best reputation for CSR and reporting?

Corporate social responsibility has moved up the business agenda and smart companies now realise it is no longer an optional extra but a core part of the way they operate.


The fact that this part of the environmental sector is by now so well established might perhaps go some way towards explaining why CSR occupies a modest – though respectable – position in terms of growth predicted by consultancies and future need as imagined by their clients.

On both charts CSR and reporting are seen as a solid bet, though from the polls most people do not believe this is likely to be a runaway sector.

In terms of reputation the graphs below paint an interesting picture, with consultants and clients drawing dramatically different conclusions about who is the leader in this field.

The consultants’ money is on ERM, which stands head and shoulders above the competition receiving more than twice the number of votes than the nearest competitor.

But for the customers, Atkins leads the way on reputation, again by a wide margin.

On aggregate, however, it is ERM which wins the day and has the best reputation for CSR.

Enviros and Arthur D Little also appear to be highly regarded across the board with AEA polling particularly well among customers.
