Simon Hartley and Ashbrook launch innovative belt filter press in the USA, UK & Ireland

NEWS RELEASE: A unique slurry-dewatering filter that processes irregular slurry flow rate and composition without operator intervention is now available in the UK and the US. Its simple design and forgiving nature have already made the V-Fold (TM) ‘folding belt filter press’ a success in its home country Australia.

The V-Fold was conceived to tackle the variable flow and composition of effluent slurries generated during production cycles in industries, such as food processing, wineries, tanneries and printing companies. The shortcomings of traditional dewatering devices have long been a cause of unwelcome process difficulties and high operating and maintenance costs for these industries.

The V-Fold’s unique V belt design concept overcomes these difficulties. It is inherently forgiving of variations in slurry feed rate and composition and as a result dewaters continuously and usually without operator intervention to produce a consistently spade-able filter cake.

Designed specifically for small to medium sized companies with effluent processes producing up to 30,000 litres, the V-Fold will help operators address ever tightening environmental controls and escalating costs of waste disposal. Typical feed slurry is at 2-5% dry solids, which the V-Fold processes in to filter cake of 20+% dry solids. The simplicity of V-Fold’s design also allows the V-Fold to be competitively priced compared with conventional filtration equipment and offer a fast payback.

The V-Fold is now available through Simon-Hartley in the UK and Ashbrook Corporation in the USA.
