South Platte River N2O levels are “among highest in the world.”

A US Geological Survey study shows that N2O emissions along the South Platte River in Colorado and Nebraska are comparable to some of the highest known emission rates in the world. The emissions may be caused by effluents from WwTPs and agriculture.
