South West Water shaves £1m off business bills

A new service offering water efficiency advice has helped save up to £1m on water and sewerage bills for businesses across southwest England.

South West Water’s Source for Business advisory service has also resulted in up to 15% reductions in water consumption for organisations since its launch 12 months ago.

Since April 2011 more than 500 businesses across Cornwall, Devon and parts of Dorset and Somerset, including hotels, holiday parks, schools and restaurants have taken advantage of the water efficiency audits.

Source for Business’ head of business development David Roberts said: “It’s a tremendous achievement and clearly demonstrates how making small changes to water efficiency across a business can really save money on the bottom line.”

A comprehensive audit, carried out by experienced water efficiency auditors, can identify opportunities for businesses to use water wisely and reduce costs.
