Spotlight on environmental management
What might have started out as a fringe concern has now become core business for the world's large corporations, and major companies without at least a basic environmental management system are now few and far between.
But their adoption by smaller firms is still patchy at best, as implementing an EMS is often ruled out as a daunting and potentially costly process, or at best, a low priority for which time and resources are unlikely to be available.
This month’s special report looks at the hurdles facing SMEs attempting to go green and looks at possible solutions on both sides of the Atlantic.
It also highlights an annual competition which gives environmental managers the recognition they deserve for making real, practical changes to improve the planet – and there is still time to get in your entries!
