#SustyTalk: Amcor’s David Clark on strengthening the circular economy during lockdown
edie's #SustyTalk interview series continues with packaging firm Amcor's vice president for sustainability David Clark discussing the role of the circular economy as part of a green economic response to the coronavirus pandemic.
With the UK on lockdown and edie readers working remotely or on furlough, this brand new series of video interviews keeps you connected to the inspirational business leaders who are continuing to drive sustainability and champion climate action from their own homes.
#SustyTalk is all about keeping edie’s loyal readers connected to sustainable business leaders across the world, whilst reminding us all that sustainability and climate action must go on, through the current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.
edie’s content editor Matt Mace discusses the lockdown with Amcor’s vice president for sustainability David Clark as part of edie’s Net-Zero Week.
During the discussion, Clark reflects on how the coronavirus pandemic has enabled some groups and organisations to lobby for phase-outs on single-use plastics to be released, but that Amcor was still committed to its time-bound targets to make its packaging recyclable or reusable.
Clark also offered his thoughts on whether consumer attitudes towards certain types of packaging may change as a result of the lockdown and a renewed focus on hygiene and safety.
Clark is also appearing on edie’s Net-Zero Resources & Waste: The Circular Economy Inspiration Sessions, an afternoon of online events, taking place on Thursday 21 May. Click here for more details and to register for free.
