With the UK on lockdown and edie readers working remotely or on furlough, this brand new series of video interviews keeps you connected to the inspirational business leaders who are continuing to drive sustainability and champion climate action from their own homes.

#SustyTalk is all about keeping edie’s loyal readers connected to sustainable business leaders across the world, whilst reminding us all that sustainability and climate action must go on, through the current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

Today, edie’s senior reporter Sarah George dials in for a catch-up with Farfetch’s global director of sustainable business Tom Berry, following on from launch of the firm’s ‘fashion footprint’ tool earlier this week.

The tool helps shoppers choose products with lower environmental impacts, including secondhand goods and those made using innovative renewable materials, and forms part of Farfetch’s work towards its ambition of becoming an environmentally and socially positive business

Berry also provides an update on the state of resale models in the fashion sector against the backdrop of the Covid-19 crisis.

“In all of our programmes, we are trying to engage with consumers authentically and bring them on board on the topic of sustainability – but we’re continually learning what is effective,” he said.
