#SustyTalk is all about keeping edie’s loyal readers connected to sustainable business leaders across the world, whilst reminding us all that sustainability and climate action must go on through the current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond. It launched in the early stages of the pandemic in 2020 and has continued since then, keeping us connected to the inspirational business leaders who are continuing to drive sustainability and climate action.

Now, #SustyTalk is evolving from a video format to an audio-only format. This episode sees edie’s senior reporter Sarah George in discussion with Unilever’s head of sustainable sourcing for naturals, Megan Willis.

Willis is speaking to edie as Unilever-owned ice cream brand Magnum is evolving its programme for empowering women working in cocoa farming – AWA by Magnum. The programme provides funding, training and technologies to women working in Côte d’Ivoire, enabling them to diversify their incomes and improve their financial literacy.

Willis provides her learnings on effectively engaging with suppliers in rural locations, in partnership with NGOs and other organisations. She is also on hand to outline the intersection between sustainable development ambitions on poverty, gender equality, nature and climate.
