Hartlepool-based J&B Recycling will service 74 sites on behalf of five local authorities – Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Stockton and Redcar & Cleveland.
The sites feature more than 340 new containers and will accept a variety of materials including glass, paper, cardboard, cans, plastics, cartons, textiles and shoes.
A spokesperson for the five Teesside authorities said: “”We’re delighted at the co-operation between the five councils and the benefits of going into partnership with J&B Recycling, working together across the region to offer a more streamlined, efficient and user-friendly service.
“In addition to our extensive doorstep collections, these new colour-coded containers will increase participation from the public by showing clearly what can be recycled and where it goes.”
