Tender Notice: Estate Waste Removal Inventory

Invitation To Tender: Estate Waste Removal Inventory
EC1 New Deal for Communities (NDC) in partnership with Islington Council is seeking to appoint a team to prepare a Waste Inventory to guide service improvements and the development of recycling on estates in the NDC area.

The EC1 NDC area in South Islington is a region of multi deprivation bordering the city. The area is characterized by a large number of local authority estates, littered streets, overflowing paladin bins and accumulations of dumped rubbish and lumber. The lack of adequate services, especially waste services, is a dominant issue.

There now exists the opportunity to rethink both the way waste is stored and collected from estates and how residents on estates are able to participate in recycling. This needs to be carefully planned and considered so as to leave the residents of the NDC area with long lasting and sustainable changes to their service provision.

Proposals must outline how the two main areas of concern will be investigated;

Estate waste collection provision and service delivery

Estate based recycling initiatives

The full tender brief and related documents are available from Tanya Broadfield, Neighbourhood Manager -Environment, from the address below, or telephone 020 7608 3412 or e-mail tbroadfield@ec1newdeal.com.

Applications/Proposals must be received by no later than 5.00pm on Friday 27th May, 2005, and must be sent to EC1 New Deal for Communities, 104-110 Goswell Road, London, EC1V 7DH.
