Niger riparian countries co-operate on sustainable development

Delegates from nine countries bordering the river Niger have issued a declaration aiming to ensure sustainable development of the basin's populations through the mastery and mobilisation of water resources, the implementation of natural resource preservation and protection measures, the adoption of national water policies and increased dialogue among all actors at local levels.
