Meacher joins ‘environmental Question Time’ at ET99

The event, which will take place at 11.30am – 1pm in the Salamander Suite at the NEC, Birmingham on 9 June 1999, will be hosted by Peter Hobday, former host of Radio 4’s Today Programme and is free to all visitors to ET’99.

TalkBack will reflect a cross section of views and experience on People, Planet, Profit – does there have to be a choice? from both panelists and audience alike.

There is a growing awareness within industry that environmental improvement is good for the bottom line. In the next millennium, it is widely predicted that companies will move beyond prosperity to quality and social justice and that this will increasingly become an issue of competitiveness.

Over 300 delegates comprising environmental managers, consultants, water and waste industry professionals and local authorities are expected to register for what promises to be a lively and topical exchange.

TalkBack will comprise the latter half of the CBI/BSI Conference on which will focuses specifically on ‘Profiting from the Environment.’ Delegates will hear from senior representatives from government, industry and the environment on how environmental best practice can enhance their competitive edge.

The conference offers practical advice and case-study evidence to give organisations the necessary tools and information to implement environmental best practice. The BSI and CBI timed this conference to allow delegates to review state-of the art products and services of the exhibitors at ET’99.
