The World Bank identifies two categories for such regulations in Vietnam, those relating to waste and its disposal and the rest concerning protection of the environment.
Issued by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, the 200 odd regulations break down roughly as:
- 9 on surrounding environmental quality
- 9 on waste
- 153 on testing methods and assessment of environmental quality and polluted substances
- 29 concerning other environmental standards
