Friends of the Earth is tapping into the popularity of video websites like YouTube by calling on those concerned about climate change to join a virtual march – and film themselves protesting.

Part of the pressure group’s ongoing Big Ask campaign, which is demanding a climate law that sets annual targets and takes into account the emissions from shipping and aviation, the online march is hoping to attract thousands of camera-wielding citizens.

Those submitting footage of themselves will also be asked who their MP is, so that their protest can be forwarded to their representative in the House of Commons.

The campaign is being backed by a host of celebrities including Jude Law, Stephen Fry, KT Tunstall and Bill Oddie.

Details of the campaign, plus the video clips themselves, can be found on FoE’s Big Ask microsite.
