Eternity Capital is seeking to invest between £5m to £15m in individual waste projects, but will consider investment opportunities outside of this range in partnership with other stakeholders.
The firm was established in recognition of the significant funding difficulties faced by many waste projects and will focus solely on this sector. The group is backed by specialist advisors including ex-Veolia chief Paul Levett and Andrew Olie, the former boss of Wyvern Waste Services.
According to Levett, while several firms have invested in the waste sector, they have not always been successful due to misunderstanding key issues such as feedstock composition.
The group says that it plans to take a long-term view on its investment and is actively looking at a range of opportunities across the waste spectrum, with an initial priority on the UK.
Eternity director Alon Laniado added that the group is “particularly interested in companies with high growth potential and which operate in segments that contribute to delivering the EU waste and environmental targets”.
