Wind turbines found cost-effective

Wind turbines could fill vast fields out in the windswept landscapes of the United States at only a modest cost to energy consumers, according to a study from the Renewable Energy Policy Project.


The cost of adding 10,000 megawatts of wind-generated power to the national generating mix over 10 years would cost consumers living in the state of Texas just 75 cents per month, or just nine dollars a year, according to the study.
