Your chance to chat with the EU Environment Commissioner

Margot Wallström, EU Environment Commissioner, is hosting a live internet chat on 3 February. Anyone who would like to pose a question or share their views on EU environmental policy is invited to participate.

Wallström is seeking a “frank and open debate” on the topic of What sort of environment do we want for Europe?. Questions can be submitted in advance or during the live chat to take place from 6 to 8pm (Central European Time).

Prior to her appointment as EU Environment Commissioner, Wallström held several posts in Sweden’s Social Democratic government, including Minister of Culture and Minister of Social Affairs. She is trained as an accountant.

To submit a question in advance, send an email. Questions should be as short as possible, 256 characters maximum. To take part in the chat you will need the correct software. The EU Environment Directorate General recommends MIRC for PCs and IRCLE for MACs. Information on correctly configuring the software for the chat has also been provided.
