UK company, Greenergy, has launched what it describes as the first widely available consumer product containing emissions credits. The company has become the first fuel supplier in Europe to demonstrate how to widen accessibility to carbon markets with the launch of its Carbon-Certified Diesel in Germany. By purchasing Greenergy Diesel mit Klimapaket 25 or 100, consumers and businesses can choose to reduce their carbon emissions by 25% or 100%.
In France, Vivendi Environment is celebrating the fact that it has won the international tender for the 50-year outsourcing contract to operate and manage Pudong water services for Shanghai’s leading business district. In the People’s Republic of China, this is the first outsourcing contract that gives a foreign company the responsibility for providing a full service including drinking water production, network distribution and customer services.
Finally, GEA Evaporation Technologies in Gothenburg, Sweden, has announced that it is to provide one of its Exergy drying systems to the Danish company, Energi. The drying system is part of a new wood pellet mill that will be erected at Junkers Industrier in Koege. The plant will produce 180,000 tonnes of pellets per year, mainly utilising the wood residues from flooring production. The pellets will then be used in one of Energi’s heat and power plants.
