California making progress on water infrastructure improvements

Arnold Schwarzenegger has said he and state lawmakers are ‘making progress’ on his long-term goal of a multi-billion dollar overhaul of California’s water network.

The ‘governator’ had been refusing to sign around 200 bills until he won support for his plans.

Mr Schwarzenegger took to his twitter page last week and today (October 12) saying: “Water is the biggest crisis facing CA.

“40% unemployment in Cent Val. Delta close to collapse. Leg(islation) must deliver water Friday or see lots of vetoes.”

However, following talks with political rivals Mr Schwarzenegger said while there were still ‘issues’ to be worked through he’d started to sign some bills – posting a picture of himself doing it.
