The Challenge:

Pukka faced the challenge of effectively communicating its comprehensive sustainability initiatives and their impact to internal and external stakeholders in a transparent and engaging manner.

The Solution:

To address this challenge, Pukka developed the Pukka Impact Report 2022, a document that serves as a repository of the organisation’s sustainability journey. Pukka designed internal engagement and education programmes to instill a culture of sustainability within the organisation, empowering employees to contribute to Pukka’s sustainability targets.

How it works:

The Pukka Impact Report 2022 serves as a comprehensive overview of the organisation’s sustainability journey, providing a detailed account of its leadership-sponsored long-term social and environmental impact goals, along with associated annual KPIs.

The report encompasses internal engagement and education programs, such as Tales from the Field and Pukka Life Academy, aimed at fostering a culture of sustainability within the organisation. Additionally, external communications efforts, including on-pack messaging, website content and social media engagement, ensure that Pukka’s sustainability commitments are effectively communicated to consumers and stakeholders worldwide. The report also includes qualitative stories and quantitative metrics, providing a comprehensive understanding of Pukka’s sustainability achievements and progress towards its long-term goals.

The results:

Pukka’s sustainability reporting and communications initiatives have been widely praised for their transparency, innovation and effectiveness in communicating sustainability achievements. The report has strengthened Pukka’s reputation for being an impactful and responsible business within the B Corp, 1% for the Planet, Organic and Fair certification communities it is part of.

The Judges said:

“Pukka’s Impact Report was not only a strong piece of disclosure but also a great example of effective communications with beautiful design, clear narrative, relevant context and vivid case studies. We felt this report shows how a smaller business can adopt sustainable practice and communicate it in an appealing way.”
