The new outstations, called the D7000 Series, provide an ‘easy to use’ approach and most products in the range have a local user interface. The outstations will operate on 3.3-volt logic, providing years of battery life and suiting applications which use solar, wind and line powered supplies.
Extensive range of communications media
All outstations in the D7000 range can operate over several communications media, which are selected at the time of order placement. The following are available as modular plug-in devices:
- PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network)
- GSM & SMS (Vodaphone, Cellnet & Orange as a minimum)
- SS300 (SecureStream 300)
- Radio (unlicensed band MPT1328 & 1329; licensed band MPT1411)
- RS232 / 485 / 422 (point-to-point or multi-drop configurations)
- Private Wire / Leased Line
- Speech (provides a synthesised speech message in MP3 format)
New packaging
This new outstation range is packaged distinctively and immediately recognisable as being the D7000 family. The units are housed in moulded polycarbonate, IP67-68 enclosures. The lid and base are a combination of grey and green and the lid has a transparent panel which allows the LCD and status LEDs to remain visible. A magnetic operated switch is provided, so that the user can activate the LCD and display status information without opening the unit. It also utilises an Infra-red communication facility for data transfer and configuration again without the need to open the box.
