Energy management: procurement, planning and purchasing priorities 2015/16

The results reveal a vibrant sector, with UK organisations continuing to see the value of energy efficiency. In fact, the message appears to be strengthening and there is significant and increasing interest among companies in investing in efficiency initiatives.

We have seen a shift in emphasis this year from cost reduction to consumption reduction, driven perhaps in part by the fall in oil and gas prices. This may also begin to free up some investment cash, providing a clear opportunity for suppliers of energy management technologies and services to help their customers by providing well-targeted solutions.

Behaviour change and technology upgrades (particularly lighting and an increased focus on more holistic building and energy management systems) are among the initiatives respondents want help with implementing.
