Foundation offers grants for water protection projects

The Turner Foundation, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is particularly interested in awarding grants to organisations that are:

The foundation is focusing on projects in the states of New Mexico, Monana, Colorado, Nebraska, both Carolinas, Georgia and Florida, though consideration will also be given to other US and international projects. Applications can be submitted continuously as the foundation meets four times a year. Support is not customarily provided for buildings, land, acquisition, endowments, or start-up funds, nor is there support for specific media projects such as books or films.

Past grants have included $40,000 to American Rivers for a public education campaign spotlighting the environmental, economic and social benefits of dam removal; and $10,000 to the Environmental Justice Fund to strengthen the national environmental justice network.
