Kenyan judges must study enviro-law

Both established judges and those joining the ranks will be required to brush up on environmental law in Kenya.

The African state’s Chief Justice, Evan Gicheru, said the judiciary wanted to mainstream environmental matters and this meant educating those who would oversee cases in the latest legal developments.

The judiciary has also established a dedicated Environmental Law Division for the High Court to allow the fast tracking of important environmental cases.
