Kingfisher: Compliance to Resilience

At Kingfisher, sustainability is embedded throughout the organisation. The B&Q and Screwfix operator launched ‘Net Positive’ in 2012, with an ambition to drive greater sustainability around timber, energy, innovation and communities.

As director of sustainability and innovation, Dax Lovegrove works on all things Net Positive and disruptive to progress Kingfisher’s sustainability ambitions across the international group. His responsibilities involve developing the sustainability strategy and policy framework across all environmental and social issues.

Previously, Dax led WWF-UK’s work with business for just over a decade, winning support for conservation and accelerating shifts towards a green economy. He drove the Net Positive movement forward while also leading the international Green Game Changers programme – promoting green business innovation.

Here, Dax presented the Sustainability Live 2015 audience with details of exactly how Kingfisher has gone beyond compliance in all areas of sustainability, including a specific focus on natural capital, deforestation and collaboration.
