JRP Solutions have appointed energy and sustainability specialist Ethan O’Brien to strengthen its national service base as part of a long term growth strategy.
Ethan will be a familiar face to many as a regular editorial contributor to energy industry publications and a presenter at industry events such as EMEX and Edie Live. His contribution to the waste management sector was recognised in 2018 when he was declared winner of a Letsrecycle ’35 Under 35’ Award.
Ethan graduated with a BSc in Geoscience from University College Cork in 2013 and was awarded an EU highly skilled workforce scholarship to study an MSc in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh Business School.
Ethan has lived and worked internationally, developing renewable energy projects across East Africa with international development agencies under a UN backed certification process.
In the UK, Ethan’s experience includes energy legislation compliance, implementation of the energy management system ISO 50001, energy procurement, carbon footprinting, implementation of energy improvement projects, sustainability policy, solutions and reporting.
An active science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) ambassador, Ethan is committed to taking sustainability to the classroom, delivering workshops to students and acting as a mentor for university students and energy professionals.
