Views sought from built environment stakeholders for collaborative industry whitepaper – Complete the survey

Last updated: 18th August 2023

Building owners, occupiers, facilities managers and AEC professionals are being invited to contribute their views to a collaborative industry whitepaper aimed at improving the tracking, measurement and monitoring of key performance metrics across the entire building lifecycle.

Something that most organisations within the built environment space are united on is the need to decarbonise the world’s buildings as efficiently and quickly as possible.

With this in mind, IES has joined forces with a range of industry stakeholders to deliver a collaborative whitepaper that is both a call to action and informative guide for AEC consultants and their end user clients. It will focus on the importance of incorporating performance evaluation and the tracking, measurement, and monitoring of key performance metrics across the entire building design process and into operation, with particular consideration of the role that improved digitisation of building performance can play in the race to decarbonise.

The paper will also consider the concept of the Sleeping Digital Twin – the theory that every building in the world most likely already has an existing 3D model, which is not currently being utilised to its full potential.

As part of this initiative, we are now seeking feedback on how energy models are currently being used and shared between built environment project stakeholders, and the challenges and benefits of using these models from design through into the operational phase of buildings.

To ensure we consider a broad range of perspectives, we are keen to hear from all stakeholders involved in the lifecycle of a building: from AEC professionals to building owners, occupiers and facilities managers.

Get involved in this important conversation by completing our short survey below.
