The edie editorial team brings you the latest news, insights and inspiration from the world of sustainable business with this 13th episode of the Sustainable Business Covered podcast. (Download all episodes on iTunes for free here).

In this week’s episode, reporter George takes the podcasting reins, as edie editor Luke was out chairing the judging of our Sustainability Leaders Awards (the shortlist is announced on 24 October) and senior reporter Matt has been away on holiday.

George takes the opportunity to speak with two guests linked by recent events in the green policy sphere. First up, he attends the launch of Sadiq Khan’s second public consultation on air quality in London, grabbing an exclusive interview with the London Mayor to discuss the role of business in his ambitious plans to create “the greenest city in the world”.

Then, George heads to the East London abode of James Thornton, the charismatic chief executive of ClientEarth, whose legal representatives appeared at the High Court this week to challenge the UK Government over ‘illegal’ levels of air pollution. In this in-depth interview, Thornton gives us his view of that ongoing legal case, before discussing his somewhat extraordianary background; from his Zen Buddhist beliefs through to the release of his sci-fi thriller novels.
