Sustainability stats: The week in numbers (30/12/15)

Climate change was pushed to the forefront of our minds with two stories. First, a report came in showing that 88% of the British public believe the world’s climate is changing following last years’ floods. Then, atomic scientists changed the Doomsday Clock to ‘3 minutes to midnight’, placing the blame firmly on “unchecked climate change”.

There has also been a rush of other big sustainability stats as companies announced their significant progresses against ambitious sustainability targets. Ikea, British retailers and food and drink manufacturers have all made major headway in the last year.

Finally, fracking is still in the news as MPs got their first chance to vote on the controversial subject, while the water-saving credentials of renewable energy was the topic of the International Renewable Energy Agency this week. As ever, click the pic for the whole story…
