Sustainability stats: This week in numbers

An investigation from the London-based non-profit organisation InfluenceMap also revealed that almost half of the world’s largest corporations are involved in trying to thwart climate-related legislation.

Meanwhile, a report from the lobby group Transport and Environment shined a light on the forthcoming ‘Euro 6’ rules for diesel cars, claiming that the vast majority of manufacturers are likely to fall foul of them.

On the bright side for the transport sector, Nissan continues to make advances in battery technology, as its new LEAF boasts its best-ever range. In other positive battery news, market research firm GlobalData projected the utility-scale storage market to grow 18-fold over the next nine years.

Finally, Swiss banking firm UBS restored some faith in the business world, establishing an ambitious target to source 100% of its energy from renewable sources in just 5 years’ time.
