US & CANADA: Lake Superior clean-up recommends zero discharges

Protecting Lake Superior: Lakewide Management Plant, Stage 2, Load Reduction Targets for Critical Pollutants is the product of three years’ research and consultation. The report identifies the following nine pollutants for significant reduction:

The report forms part of the Lake Superior Lakewide Management Plan (LaMP), which is part of the Binational Program to Restore and Protect the Lake Superior Basin. A binational action plan to meet the pollutant reduction targets in the report will be the next step in LaMP’s process.
