Waste heavyweight joins ESA

The ESA represents the UK’s waste management and secondary resources industry in both the private and public sectors.

Roy Hathaway was responsible for UK policy on waste regulation and commercial & industrial waste at Defra from 2006 until recently.

He has worked on a wide range of environmental policy issues – including marine pollution, flood defence, and sustainable development.

ESA director general, Barry Dennis, said: “We are delighted to have someone of Roy’s experience and calibre working with us.

“As the voice of the waste and resource management industry, ESA is looking to play a constructive role in the debate over how Britain can become more resource efficient and low carbon. Roy’s contribution will strengthen our ability to do this.”
