WWF and Bass team up to aid Asia Pacific wildlife

Bass Hotels, which owns the Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn chains, is launching a region-wide fundraising appeal through its hotels for WWF’s wildlife conservation work in the region, which is host to a number of endangered species including the giant panda, tiger, Asian rhinos, orang utan and giant turtles.

A total of 33 hotels in ten countries will host a five-month fund raising campaign, to start immediately, and will also initiate an awareness campaign to support endangered wildlife conservation programmes by adding the equivalent of one US dollar to each guest’s bill to be donated to the WWF.

‘We are encouraged by Bass Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific’s foresight and concern in creating this innovative and powerful fundraising campaign for conserving the region’s endangered wildlife,’ said Dr Isabelle Louis, WWF International’s Asia Pacific programme director. ‘We hope that this partnership between WWF and Bass will be a model for other corporations that are also concerned about conservation.’
