Fishermen protest against Baltic windfarm

Euowind’s project manager Göran Loman told SydSvenska that the company acknowledged the fishermen’s concerns, but argued that their new windfarm could act as a potential breeding ground for fish, boosting fish populations.

Loman also pointed out that despite fears of the noise from turbines scaring fish away, vibrations from ships were typically 10,000 stronger than those that would be emitted from the windfarm. Nevertheless he recognised concerns that dolphins and seals might be deterred by the large installation.
