Irish eco village gains construction manager

Liam Ryan from local firm Ryan Teese Architects, is to take on the role with among his responsibilities being to look after the implementation of all work on the site.

Mr Ryan has already set a target of completing the construction of around 30 houses per quarter on the site, with 132 residential buildings planned for the development overall.

Further developments planned for the 67-acre site include three community buildings, a commercial area with a focus towards ecological services, education and training on Market Square and an area for wildlife and woodland.

Planning permission was received last month allowing building work to commence on a quarter of the environmentally-friendly homes scheduled for the development.

Sustainable Projects is the developer in charge of carrying out the work, which will include the overall development of 113 homes.
