In liaisons between leading Italian water management company, SMAT, and Hobas in 2003, the possibility of relining with HOBAS CC-GRP Pipe Systems was proposed.
Although HOBAS NC Line® is suitable for both circular and non-circular pipes, this relining technique was totally new for the Italian market. The customer was convinced, but the local contractor was initially sceptical, having no experience of the product.
The pipes were delivered at the end of June and HOBAS provided the trolley to transport them into the old pipeline.
The success of this project is significant because many cities in Piemonte have networks of ancient NC pipelines to rebuild, but Turin is the first to risk using new technology.
