SEPA’s budget boosted by £11 million

Tricia Henton, Chief Executive of SEPA, warmly welcomed the Scottish Executive budget announcement. The extra funding will be used in the Agency’s current initiatives, including the monitoring of coastal waters and the development of environmental statute on water and waste.

“The funding now available to us for the next three years will allow us not only to address issues like non municipal and agricultural wastes but also to develop an online pollution emissions inventory which will give Scottish people easy access to information about the quality of their local area,” said Henton. “SEPA, and the many partners we will be working with to take these important issues forward, face a great deal of hard work but I am confident that we will deliver improvements to the environment and people’s understanding of the natural world around them.”
