The right specification was a key issue for Bernard Levens, Transport & Workshop Manager at SWH. “Our previous chassis provider was unable to supply a vehicle without ABS/ASR and all its associated electronic componentry,” he said. “We don’t need it. The presence of under vehicle salt and water while gritting results in simply too much expensive repair work. MAN was able to supply a ‘delete option’ specification with a low chassis height – ideal for our requirements.”
SWH is a highway maintenance company with a separate division, known as Mechanical Services. It is also one of the largest vehicle repairers in the south west. Local MAN dealer, Frank Tucker Commercials, will undertake all warranty work.
MAN has recently launched three new cab variants for the TG-A range, to satisfy demand for fleet operators. From 7.5 to 41 tonnes and above, MAN also offers a full range of rigids, tippers, drawbars, multi-axles and tractors.
