Probation service adds anti-graffiti project

The Leicester & Rutland Graffiti Trailer has been engineered for the task of large-scale graffiti clean-ups. Equipped with a 1,000 litre water tank, this tool will enable graffiti removal from places without a clean water supply, such as canal towpaths and derelict buildings.

The simple controls and the safety features of the Nomix Enviro anti-graffiti trailer mean that lawbreakers can be trained in less than a day.

Graffiti removal will certainly not be an easy option for offenders as the trailer can be used for a full day’s work without refuelling. Also, any lawbreaker not involved in the machine’s operation will be employed applying Nomix Enviro environmentally friendly and anti-graffiti chemicals, or involved in litter picking activities to ensure that the community gets the very best from its probationary team spring-clean.

The new graffiti removal service is funded by Leicestershire County Council and the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CORPs) across the County. The service will be delivered through the Leicestershire & Rutland Probation Area Community Punishment Team and also has support from the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service.

Nomix Enviro has also recently created an internet purchasing facility, the “Nomix Online Graffiti Shop”, to provide residents’ groups, businesses, caretakers and wardens with the opportunity to deal with graffiti using a range of environmentally friendly products, including Anti-Graffiti kits which allow for the removal of graffiti by hand.
