Episode 12 is hosted by deputy editor Sarah George, who serves up three special guest interviews, all connected by the topic of tackling the alarming global decline in nature.

First up, Sarah speaks with two members of the Lloyds Bank team to explore how the financial sector is starting to measure its biodiversity impacts, and unlock and mobilise fresh funding for nature conservation and restoration. This conversation is with Katie Leach, head of nature at Lloyds Banking Group, and Jennifer Burrett, director of sustainability and ESG finance at Lloyds Bank Corporate & Institutional.

Editor’s note: Katie and Jennifer mention a recent blog they have jointly published on edie. Read that blog in full here.

Our second interview provides a case study in corporate finance for nature restoration. Jamie Rusby, group sustainability director at VELUX Group, explains how the Danish manufacturer is working with WWF to deliver large-scale nature restoration projects in some of the world’s most biodiverse places – and how this ties in with its corporate climate commitments.

Last but not least is a conversation with Misha Dhanak, chief executive of community crowdfunding platform Spacehive. Misha highlights how important smaller-scale, community-led nature projects are to the global fight against nature loss.

Sarah also recaps all the latest happenings at edie, including the recent launch of our biggest face-to-face event of the year, edie 24, and our freshly launched Countdown to COP28 editorial campaign, designed to build motivation and keep edie readers and listeners informed in the run-up to this year’s UN-convened climate summit.
