Sustainable Business Covered podcast: The EV masterclass with EDF Energy

edie’s latest podcast series focuses on the EV masterclass in association with EDF Energy. Following the publication edie and EDF Energy’s Business guide to fleet electrification guide (which can be downloaded here), edie talks to the energy company’s EV lead Phil Valarino to provide an overview of all the key considerations businesses need to look at when considering EVs to assist with carbon targets.

Before that conversation, edie’s speaks to the construction firm Wates Group’s health, safety, environment and quality director John Dunne about the company’s fresh net-zero target.

Wates Group, which employs almost 4,000 people, will use the next 12 months to engage staff and collect data to set accurate benchmarks as it targets zero impacts from its operations.

The company has outlined switching to an all-electric commercial vehicle fleet, eliminating single-use plastics from supply chains and operations and planting 5,000 trees annually as steps it will introduce to reach its 2025 targets. Dunne is on hand to discuss the company’s plans to transition to an all-electric fleet.
